For large agencies/employers, with more than 250 staff (this includes tempoary labour), the Inland Revenue requires you to use the electronic submission for this year's End of Year Return. The deadline is May 19th 2005 and you will be faced with penalties for any late submissions. You will need to ensure that you hav registered and have the data in the appropriate format. GEL OnLine also helps with early validation and testing for submission. 

For intermediate sized agencies/employers, with between 50 and 249 staff, you are required to be on board with electronic submission for May 19th 2006. For smaller agencies/employers, with less than 50 staff, there are savings to be made with signing up this year. The formal deadline for mandatory using electronic submission is May 19th 2010, however, you will be eligible for a £250 tax saving for using online filing this year and then ongoing savings totalling £825 over 5 years. It just makes sense to act now and start benefiting from the money saving AND the time you will save.
